Our Changemaker Hub is a platform where we showcase individuals or organizations from anywhere in the world who are actively working on something that creates a positive impact in the world: On our environment, animals and wildlife, to other people or society at large, to people’s fitness, health and wellbeing (physically, mentally, spiritually). It’s someone who lives the Tripulse “Be Better” spirit and inspires others through their actions to do so too.

By featuring their stories and lifting their voices, we want to share what inspires us to "be better” and hopefully motivate many more people. Feel free to share these stories! Everyone can make a positive difference, big or small, but if we are many we are stronger.

One such changemaker is Nele Dörk who is the creator of the German running blog "Runnerfeelings" . She motivates others to pick up running (and stick to it!), shares training plans and gives authentic insights into the world of a runner. Nele answered our questions:

What’s your name? My Name is Nele Dörk

Where do you live? I live in Germany in the beautiful Bavarian city Munich

How old are you? I am 30 years young ;)

What do you do that creates a positive impact, what’s your mission?
With www.runnerfeelings.com, my mission is to create a place for 100% real talk about running – how we feel inside, why we lost our motivation some days and what running is really about.

Why do you do it?
Nowadays, honesty and being real are a rarity – especially when it comes to athletic performance. We all have our own challenges during a run, we’re not always talking about. I really want to create awareness for talking about it, showing all sites of a runner, all thoughts and personal high and lows.

What’s the biggest challenge in doing what you do?
Sometimes it's hard for me to actually believe the advices I write down on the blog. But that doesn’t mean I am not honest. Understanding the difference between knowing what's right and accepting what's right can be very challenging.

How do you keep motivated when things get tough?
When anxiety or stress kicks in, I take a deep breath and run. I run as long as I can. When things get very though, I take a rest from everything, knowing it’s more than okay.

Sustainability for you is…(please complete the sentence)
… still a big learning lesson. I know that there is so much I need to change in my daily life and I am trying my best. It all starts with a first step.

What’s your favorite way to stay active and healthy?
Running, hiking and strolling around is my favorite way to stay active. If you want to stay healthy, you need to listen to your body. Health and well-being comes within. On some days it means ice-cream, on other days it’s a 10k run. :)

Where can we educate ourselves more on the mission or topic you’re working on (digital platforms, magazines, books, documentaries, movies, podcasts, websites etc)?
On www.runnerfeelings.com you can find almost everything about running – and more than the basic stuff. I write about mental health, real runner thoughts, how to speak to yourself during a run and how to accept shitty days.

Where can we find more of you and the great work you do (Social Media, website, blog, etc)?
Beside my blog, follow me around on Instagram @neledoerk

What is your personal motto?
“Be always your first priority”

Who is a person who inspires you to live a more active and/or sustainable life? To be honest, my friends are the ones that inspire me in every single way. We are all very active and have different sporting passions. Moreover, I am working full-time in a company that is very aware of being as sustainable as possible.

What’s your definition of “be better”? “be better” defines the best and most important project you're always working on – it’s yourself. Don’t compare yourself to others and be better in every single way and concerning every single situation that plays a role in your life.

Which question do you wish we’d ask you but haven’t?
“What would you say to your younger self?”
– People often think that things are not going the right way and they are not where they want to be. Maybe it’s the same for me. But when I had the chance to meet my younger self I really wanted her to know that there is no need to worry. Never. Things fall apart and they come together. Always.
