Natural Fiber, Supernatural Performance

Forget everything you thought you knew about activewear - and that merino wool is the only natural alternative. While synthetic materials have dominated high-intensity sports, TENCEL™ Lyocell is changing the game by proving that nature's innovation surpasses petroleum-based, and even merino wool, in many areas.

Where is TENCEL™ Lyocell superior to merino wool?

Anti-ich & suitable for the most sensitive skins

Unlike merino wool that can feel itchy or scratchy against the skin (especially when wet), Tencel's nano-smooth fibers create a "second skin" feeling. Even customers with wool sensitivities report complete comfort. There's no break-in period - it's incredibly soft from the first wear.

Superior Durability

Merino wool unfortunately is prone to developing holes and weak spots after just a few washes. Tencel maintains its structural integrity workout after workout. No more checking for thin spots or darning holes - our gear is engineered to last. We have many people wearing Tripulse leggings nearly every day for several years straight.

Everything you need to know about TENCEL™ Lyocell

What exactly is TENCEL™ Lyocell?

TENCEL™ Lyocell is a branded form of lyocell fiber, made from wood pulp cellulose. It's a sustainable, man-made fiber that's fully biodegradable. The fibers are produced through an environmentally responsible closed-loop production process using renewable wood from sustainably managed and certified forests.

How is TENCEL™ Lyocell made?

TENCEL™ Lyocell is made through a unique closed-loop process:

  1. Wood pulp is dissolved in a non-toxic organic solvent (NMMO)
  2. The solution is pushed through tiny holes (spinnerets) to create fibers
  3. The fibers are spun into yarns
  4. 99.5% of the solvent is recycled and reused in a closed-loop system.

This process has received the European Award for the Environment from the EU Commission.
