One of the easiest ways to care for your activewear is to wash it less often. Our TENCEL™ Lyocell activewear is naturally odor-resistant and unfavorable for bacteria growth. This means you don’t need to wash it very often.

After your workout, hang your clothes out to air instead of tossing them straight in the wash. This simple habit can save significant amounts of water and energy over time.

Only wash your activewear when it’s truly dirty or smelly. Some signs it’s time to wash include:

  • Visible stains or dirt
  • Noticeable odor that doesn’t dissipate after airing out

How to Wash TENCEL™ and Keep Your Gear Fresh!

While TENCEL™ Lyocell is durable, gentle care will ensure it lasts longer.

Before anything else, always check the care label of your TENCEL™ clothing. Instructions can vary from piece to piece. That said, here are some general guidelines for all TENCEL™ garments to help you extend their life:

  • Hand wash is ideal, but a machine wash on a gentle cycle works too. Note: Washing spinning speed should be 400 maximum!
  • Use cold water (low temperature max 30°C/86°F).
  • Turn garments inside out before washing to protect the outer surface.
  • Wash with similar colors.
  • Use a mild, eco-friendly liquid detergent (more on this in the next section). Use a small amount of detergent. Overdosing won't make clothes necessarily cleaner and can potentially harm the fabric.
  • Skip the bleach and fabric softeners which can damage the fibers.
  • Avoid overloading the washing machine to reduce abrasion.
  • Avoid washing together with sharp items like zippers.
  • Avoid washing with other fiber-shedding clothes such as fleece or wool. These fibers can be transferred to your clothes.

How to Dry TENCEL™

  • Do not tumble dry as this can shrink the fabric and wear on the fabric
  • Never wring out your garments – gently press out excess water
